Lincoln Park Neighborhood Tour
Lincoln Park has come a long way from it’s humble beginnings as a working-class neighborhood in the 1870s. Today the neighborhood is home to the best restaurants, incredible shopping, beautiful and historic residential neighborhoods and of course Lincoln Park – with FREE activities including the Lincoln Park Zoo, Lincoln Park Conservatory and Alfred Caldwell Lily Ponds. Let our guides show you the best of the best on our Lincoln Park Neighborhood Tour.
The Lincoln Park Neighborhood Tour starts at the corner of Halsted & Armitage – right in the middle of the historic business district of the neighborhood. You will learn about the German influence on the buildings and architecture that helped make this strip a city historic landmark site. Many small shops and boutiques call Lincoln Park home. Our guides will be sure to point out of few of their favorite shops and restaurants that will definitely give this tour a more intimate feeling.
The tour continues through the Lincoln Park Neighborhood with a stop at the often-overlooked Oz Park. Learn how it was named and visit all 4 of the larger than life character statues that are placed throughout the park. Our Lincoln Park Neighborhood Tour will then take you through one of Chicago’s most beautiful residential neighborhoods, the historic Mid-North District. This small neighborhood is home to early designs by Louis Sullivan and several wood-frame homes that survived The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 (yes, the fire made it that far north!).
The group will cross Clark Street and make a bee line for our grand finale – Lincoln Park. But not before a quick stop in the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool to soak in the serene landscape and learn just how dedicated Alfred was to the competition of this project. We conclude the Lincoln Park Neighborhood Tour just in front of the Lincoln Park Conservatory. Here you will have an incredible photo opportunity of the Chicago skyline with the formal French gardens in the foreground. After the tour make sure to check out the conservatory and the Lincoln Park Zoo – both free and both Best Free Chicago Year-Round Things to Do & bonus – the Lincoln Park Conservatory made our list of Great Chicago Date Nights that are NOT Dinner and a Movie.

Chicago Loop Architecture Tour – This is our heaviest architecture tour and for good reason. Chicago’s Loop is loaded with incredible buildings and the people behind the designs are equally fascinating.
Chicago Crime & Gangster Tour – You have heard the names: Al Capone, The North Side Gang & “Machine Gun” Jack McGurn. Now it’s time you hear their stories and visit their old stomping grounds on this incredible journey through Chicago’s River North & Loop neighborhoods.
Chicago Total Loop Tour – This tour is for guests looking to get an all-around education on Chicago’s most-trafficked part of the city. We will touch on a little history, a little architecture and little bit of what the future of Chicago might look like.
Riverwalk & North Loop Tour – Is there a better way to spend a sunny day in Chicago than on the Chicago Riverwalk? We don’t think so. Our Riverwalk Tour begins where Chicago did an ends at the site of the world’s largest Tiffany Glass dome roof. You do not want to miss this one!
Michigan Avenue & Millennium Park Tour – Guests will not want to forge their camera on this tour as they will check off many to-do’s from their Chicago bucket list including: Wrigley Building, Chicago River, Carbide & Carbon Building, Wrigley Square, Crown Fountain, Cloud Gate & Buckingham Fountain.
Magnificent Mile Tour – Shop to you drop…AFTER this tour. We’re going to show and tell a different side of the Magnificent Mile than you’re used to. See the history (Original Water Tower) incredible buildings (John Hancock Center) and learn about the influential architects (Meis van der Rohe) that shaped this part of Chicago.
