Over two hours, your guide will walk you through stories that have genuinely unsettled this city for generations. You’ll learn about a single morning on the Chicago River when more people drowned than in almost any other maritime disaster in U.S. history — and why it happened so fast. And you’ll come to understand how a theater packed with over 600 people on a cold December afternoon became the site of one of the deadliest building disasters this country has ever seen, largely because of decisions made long before opening night. The tour is free to join — your guide works entirely for tips. We suggest $15–25 per person if you feel the tour earned it, but there’s no pressure and no obligation upfront.
