Chicago is home to more than 500+ pieces of public art in more than 150 municipal facilities across the city. Chicago’s Loop is home to some of the most fascinating and picturesque pieces in the collection including sculptures by Picasso, controversial pieces such Monument with Standing Beast and learn how Chicago was invaded by decorative life-size cows in 1999!
We start our tour in the heart of the Loop at the James R. Thompson Center, wind our way to Federal Plaza and will end the tour at the world famous Cloud Gate sculpture, commonly referred to as “The Bean”.
Throughout the tour, you’ll be introduced to the artists responsible for the pieces, how the city reacted to their unveiling and get up close and personal with Chicago’s most prized possessions.
In addition to the gorgeous public art, you’ll be walking amongst some of the most specular architecture in North America. We’ll pass by the James R. Thompson Center, Chicago City Hall, The Daley Center, Federal Plaza, The Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Cultural Center.
